Pat Metheny on stage in Lugano
(Re)playing this album by Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays (with percussionist Nana Vasconcelos) always is a pleasure! This record is typical for the "jazz explorer" in Pat Metheny, as the titletrack - a superb 20 minutes crescendo - particularly well illustrates.

Whether with his band (Pat Metheny Group), alone or in reunion with other jazz musicians (Lyle Mays - quoted above - and more recently Brad Meldhau), Pat Metheny is sunny a musician ! His jazz (rock) sound bright, happy and always accessible.

Ever heard Rick Tomlinson, a.k.a. Voice of the Seven Woods, now Voice of the Seven Thunders?

The frontcover of Voice of the
Seven Woods
This guy is a phenomenon! Be it with regard to his style or the way he explores music, Rick Tomlinson is a pure independent songwriter

I would recommend to discover Tomlinson’s art by listening to the very delicate Voice of the Seven Woods, then the somehow rougher - but just as beautiful - Voice of the Seven Thunders.
